Mumbai and Bangalore are in a race yet again and this time for the crown of the Twitter capital of India. Interestingly, two surveys conducted recently give contradicting results - one which puts Mumbai in the forefront, while the other favours Bangalore.
And this has predictably made Tweeple from both cities question the authenticity of the surveys.
According to the first survey conducted earlier this week by Twitter Grader, Bangalore ranked 23rd in the list of cities across the world with the highest number of Twitter users in the country, while Mumbai appeared 27th on the list.
The second survey conducted by tweeple.in along the same lines shows that Mumbai has the highest number of users of the micro-blogging site in India - 34,082 - and Bangalore comes a close second with 28,457 users.
However, Tweeple from both cities feel that the surveys are unreliable.
Shakthi Salloager (25), a writer based in Mumbai, and an avid Twitter user said, "I don't trust these surveys."
Vibrant users
Tinu Cherrian (29), a member of the Bangalore Twitter Community agreed. "I don't think the surveys are authentic. Both cities have vibrant Twitter users," he said.
According to Philip Abraham (24), a software engineer, there could've been a mix up.
"These surveys have to be conducted better," he suggested.
Added Netra Barikh (43), a networking addict, "The number of users go up and down regularly. This could be why such surveys cannot produce the exact numbers."
World ranking
Internationally, London has the most number of Tweeple in the world. It is followed by Los Angeles and Chicago, according to both surveys.
