We're missing players who were good in IPL: Dhoni

The Indian cricket team arrived in West Indies after a long flight and skipper MS Dhoni found the bus ride from the airport to the hotel more tiring than the IPL.

"The two hour bus ride from the airport to the hotel was more tiring than the entire IPL...look we can't change the calender. It has been like this for a long time now and we have gotten used to it," Dhoni said.

India will be playing their league game in St. Lucia. The Men in Blue are not playing any warm up games, they simply don't have the time to do so.

The 2007 Champions play their opening match against Afghanistan this Saturday. Their real test is the next day itself when they play their second league game against South Africa this Sunday.

When asked if team missed players who performed well in the IPL but were not part of the squad, Dhoni said, "I have to admit that there were 3-4 guys who played very well in the IPL but are not part of our team, but then the ICC rules are such that we have to nominate our 30 member squad well in advance and so those guys missed out".

Dhoni also expressed his liking for the Caribbean culture and people.

"I love the people here and love playing cricket here, though I must admit that I am more of a mountain guy than a beach person but inspite of that playing cricket here is a great experience and I am looking forward to the next 15 days," he said.
